T-Roc. Volkswagen's new weapon in SUV market.
Volkswagen’s latest product in it’s wide model range, the “T-Roc” will be a serious player in the mini SUV market, that is very popular worldwide and also in Latvia.
Vehicle transport company “Kurbads” has transported first “T-Roc” models to Latvia. They are already available for purchase in local Volkswagen dealerships. Pre-sales started in October. The innovative “T-Roc” unites the sportiness of compact class and the functionality of SUVs for a reasonable price – starting from 18 497 EUR.
Volkswagen is hoping to tempt potential buyers by offering a wide range of petrol and diesel engines, lots of standard equipment and the option of four-wheel drive. The petrol engine line-up starts with a 113bhp 1.0-litre, three-cylinder, and moves up to 148bhp 1.5- and 177bhp 2.0-litre four-cylinder units. Diesel engines in 1.6- and 2.0-litre displacements are available.
The T-Roc uses the MQB platform which it shares with the Volkswagen “Golf”, SEAT “León”, Audi “A3”, and the Škoda “Octavia”. Thanks to a longer wheelbase, the car is one of the biggest in the segment, and even five adult passengers will feel comfortable. The new SUV is balanced sweetly and precisely, it has plenty of grip and impressive agility, making it an enjoyable SUV to drive in corners and also on a highway.
Latvians are practical folk – the car’s boot is a very important component of the car. The “T-Roc”’s boot is a practical, square shape. Plus, it has a 445-litre capacity (392 litres on four-wheel-drive models) that makes it slightly larger than the Audi “Q2″‘s, if not quite as big as that found in the “Countryman”. A height-adjustable boot floor lets you minimize the load lip that you have to heave luggage over and flatten out the step up to the rear seats when they’re folded flat on two-wheel-drive models.
Adaptive cruise control, rear view camera, blind zone sensor, driver’s tiredness sensor, parking, traffic jam, pedestrian and emergency braking systems – 11 different systems will ensure bigger driver’s comfort and will help to avoid critical situations.
