We are taking part in Riga Lattelecom marathon!
More than 37 000 runners from 78 countries challenged themselves and others in various Riga Lattelecom marathon distances. Among the huge crowd of runners five Kurbads employees stepped on a start line.
Warehouse manager Uldis Čalpa, warehouse employee Rinalds Osis, household manager Edgars Krievāns and his two assistants Jānis Paupe and Jānis Banders choose to compete in the 10 km distance.
It turned out that the fastest one is Jānis Paupe who finished after 40 minutes and 30 seconds: “I am really surprised about my result, as I didn’t really prepare for it. I think, also the weather was really good for running. My participation in Riga marathon is a tradition – I like the crowd and our mutual love for running, the event is organized very well and I like to compete against my colleagues!”
The marathon was won by Ethiopian Cedat Ajana, who finished after two hours, ten minutes and 59 seconds. It’s new Riga marathon record! Georgina Rono won in women’s run.
