Kurbads Best Driver 2025 – Edgars Paškevičs
In 2025, the Kurbads Best Driver Award was presented to Edgars Paškevičs – a professional car carrier driver whose daily work is defined by precision and responsibility. This recognition was awarded for consistent long-term performance and a reliable approach to safety and work quality.
Edgars has been part of the Kurbads team since 2020. During this time, he has covered more than 800,000 kilometers on European roads, proving himself as a reliable driver–forwarder. His roots lie in the Krāslava region, where two of his lifelong passions were shaped from an early age - fishing and machinery.
As his brother Vadims shares, there is hardly a lake in the Krāslava area where Edgars has not fished, and this passion has regularly led him to prize-winning results in competitions. Alongside this, Edgars is distinguished by strong technical expertise - the ability to work with a wide range of machinery, from modern vehicles to retro tractors manufactured in the 1960s, which require both knowledge and experience to start and operate.
Car Carrier No. 121 – Iron Man
In his daily work, Edgars operates Kurbads car carrier No. 121, named in honor of legendary Latvian ice hockey player Kārlis Skrastiņš. The Iron Man symbolizes endurance, reliability, and strength of character.
The visual design of the car carrier was created in collaboration with artist Alfreds Paulausks, following the Kurbads visual identity and highlighting number 37, the number with which Kārlis Skrastiņš played in the NHL. Car carrier No. 121 is built on the Mercedes-Benz Actros 1848 L Trend Line platform - a modern vehicle that meets EURO 6 emission standards and is equipped with fuel-efficiency technologies. Improved aerodynamics, driver-focused cabin comfort, and smart control systems support daily work on long-distance routes.

On the Road to His First Million!
Edgars’ professional attitude is highly valued by his colleagues. As noted by his colleague Aivars Birznieks, Edgars is always willing to share his experience and support others with practical advice. Meanwhile, Kurbads Logistics Manager Toms Hartmanis emphasizes that Edgars is best defined by his actions and consistently strong performance in everyday work.
It is also worth noting that Edgars received this title together with the Kurbads sculpture created by sculptor Oskars Mikāns during a ceremonial award presentation in December at the Kurbads Ice Hall. The award was presented at the company’s most anticipated annual event - the Kurbads Annual Ball, which brought together more than 180 employees along with their families and children. The diverse program created a genuine atmosphere of celebration and togetherness, highlighting the strong sense of unity and shared values within the Kurbads team.
Edgar, thank you for your work.
We wish you a safe road and steady kilometers ahead. Stay as strong in character as the Iron Man Kārlis - and keep moving toward your million. Congratulations!
