Kurbads receives an A-level rating in the tax rating system
The State Revenue Service has introduced a new rating system for taxpayers. Every company can view its rating and the accompanying explanation in its EDS profile.
According to the VID, the taxpayer rating is an informative tool that enhances the understanding of honest business practices and motivates and supports entrepreneurs, thereby reducing the shadow economy.
The rating comprises six data sets: registration data, timely submission of declarations and reports, payment of taxes, applied penalties, and assessment of wages compared to the average wage level in the relevant industry and region, as well as in the country. Each company receives data that has been executed flawlessly or that requires attention and corrections.
Kurbads has received an A-level assessment, confirming honest operations and demonstrating that the company is a responsible and reliable partner.
As of the end of 2023, 24,219 companies, or 18% of all Latvian companies, were rated with an A level; 59,238 companies, or 43%, with a B level; and 9,194 companies, or 7%, with a C level. Additionally, 4,057 companies, representing 3% of the total, were newly founded, while another 40,482 companies, or 29%, were inactive taxpayers. Starting from March 2024, this data will be publicly accessible in the VID database.
Explanations of tax rating levels*:
"A level" - Good performance
"B level" - Obligations must be fulfilled more effectively
"C level" - Violations in performance of obligations
"N level" – Inactive taxpayer
"J level"
