Car carrier #98 has arrived in Kurbads!
On a really sunny afternoon of May 20 the employees of automotive logistics company Kurbads gathered to celebrate the arrival of car carrier #98. The new Mercedes-Benz Actros is marked with ancient Latvian mythology symbols – Sun united with Jumis, designed by Alfreds Paulausks.
“Although this car carrier was planned to be decorated with another sign, it turned out to be a combination of Sun and Jumis. This is the symbol of eternity of time – circle that is eternal as Earth rotates around the Sun. Sun’s eternal life not only to Latvia, but also to Kurbads! Jumis sign around the Sun symbolizes fertility and prosperity,” that’s how the meaning of symbols are described by Inese Krūmiņa, scientist of Latvian folklore.
In the celebrational ceremony, lead by folklorist Inese Krūmiņa, men performed the dance of the bear, sending positive energy to the car carrier, while ladies tied knots to wish the truck a good journey every time it goes on trips.
The car carrier #98 driver will be Andrejs Kļimovs, a long time driver of the company who has proven his skills multiple times.
“Andrejs is a very precise driver, who is getting this honor, to have a completely new truck for the second time. He knows Europe perfectly well and he always has very good communication with any of our clients. He does his job in good faith and expects the same from others. I want to emphasize his creativity, as he manages to load the most difficult of cargoes, and his mentoring ability, as he doesn’t refuse his advice to junior colleagues,” Andrejs is characterized by Kurbads’ drivers mentor Anatolijs Vasiļjevs. “He visits all our activities outside work and he loves sports!”.
The new Mercedes-Benz “Actros 1843” is equipped with Intago car carrier equipment but the truck has the more powerful OM 470 engine, producing 456 hp. The cabin is customized with an especially comfortable passenger seat and leather wheel, and also the truck has a factory built climate control system
In “Actros 1843”, a compromise between comfort, conductivity and grip with the road surface has been found by using the newest technologies. The cabin is built so that the driver can concentrate on the road at all times and avoid traffic accidents.
