Ferrari 488 Pista – the maximum adrenaline charge
It’s rare to get to enjoy the power, performance and beauty of Ferrari. Approaching summer, at Kurbads’ logistics center, more and more exclusive cars will arrive with auto transporters from all around the Europe. Ferrari 488 Pista begins its journey towards adventure – seriously wicked, with the most powerful V8 engine to date, perfectly complemented by polished aerodynamic improvements. The added value of the Ferrari 488 Pista greatness is achieved by the engineer’s acquired skills and abilities during the development of race cars 488 GTE and 488 Challenge. As a result, the acquired race car specifications triumph on the highway elegantly.
The Italian translation of the model’s name, Pista, means “track”, which absolutely organically intertwines with the depicted horse standing on its hind legs in the Ferrari coat of arms. Also, the name has been chosen to be a compelling reminder of Ferrari’s contribution to motorsport and its development. This model can be accurately described as – the appearance of a racing car with a carbon fiber soul.
An amazing power leap has been achieved with the advanced V8 twin-turbo engine, which is capable of developing 720 horsepower. 488 Pista is able to accelerate up to 100 km / h in 2.85 seconds and has a top speed of 340 km / h. Average fuel consumption per 100 km – 12.5 l.
The car weighs a total of 1,280 kilograms, which is 90 kilograms lighter than the Ferrari 488 GTB. The unique reduction in total weight is due to the use of titanium, magnesium and other exotic materials in the production of the car and its components. Correspondingly, the aerodynamics have been improved, the rear fender, which provides impressive lightness and efficiency for the car’s compressive force on the road by 20%.
It is worth mentioning that the car has the latest electronically controlled E-Diff3, F1-Trac traction control, and this model is the first to be equipped with Ferrari Dynamic Enhancer system – the pressure in the brake calipers is electronically regulated, so driving in turns has become even more intuitive and predictable. The ability to choose 20-inch carbon fiber wheel discs is also something that has never been seen before.
The cabin is concisely simple and absolutely characteristic of racing cars, down to the smallest details the feeling of a race track is created. Exclusively treated with Alcantara leather and carbon fiber upholstery, it’s as pedantic and elegant as any Ferrari model.
In 2019, Jeremy Clarkson, longtime Top Gear presenter, named the Ferrari 488 Pista supercar of the year. The price of one vehicle is starting from 303,000 EUR.
