Jumis will protect Kurbads car carrier

Vehicle transportation company’s Kurbads fleet has been supplemented by a new Mercedes-Benz truck with a “Kaessbohrer” car carrier equipment. Company is in a rebranding process so the new car carrier has a Latvian folklore sign Jumis in it’s design.

In Latvian folktales Kurbads is the son of mare, but the sign of two Jumis horses protected barns and houses of ancient peasants. The new design symbolically unites folktales, ancient Latvian signs and “Kurbads” battle horses – car carriers.

Jumis is the symbol of fertility, wealth, happiness and luck. It gives blessing and energy. The sign increases richness, success, luck and fertility. The word “Jumis” is connected to an ancient Liv word “Jumala” meaning “God”. The first “Kurbads” car carrier, designed after rebranding principles, has an image of Ūsiņš, the caretaker of bees and horses in Latvian mythology.

“We used Latvian symbols in the new design, they are a part of tradition and require special competency, care and responsibility. I hope “Kurbads” will show a good example and honor ancient values,” says Alfrēds Paulausks, the designer of rebranding.

Vehicle transportation company’s Kurbads new battle horse Mercedes-Benz “Actros 1843” will be driven by experienced driver Guntars Beitāns and protected by Jumis. The truck has a 430 HP engine and it weighs 18 tonnes. It has several remarkable innovations which lessen the exploitation costs and provide better safety in traffic.

A compromise between comfort and driving quality has been found in “Actros” by using newest technology. For the driver, there is freedom of movement in the cabin and a sense of a spacious environment. The ergonomics are thought out – all control panels can be reached by hand. The layout of the cabin is made so that the driver can focus on the road and avoid traffic accidents.
