KURBADS celebrated Midsummer!

… Midsummer grass, dances and songs, frothy beer, tasty snacks and a pleasure to be together!

Friday, 21st of June, the summer solstice (Midsummer), DBC and KURBADS started the evening with songs & dances.
Midsummer or Jani in Latvia is a traditional pagan festivity marking the summer solstice on the shortest night of the year.

Everyone collects wild flowers in nearby fields and meadows. They are called „Jāņu zāles”. Women then make wreaths out of them. Men called Jānis (John) wear oak leaf wreaths, celebrating their name day.

In KURBADS works four “Jāņi” and we are proud of them!
