Kurbads drivers in TOP 3 in The Driver's Fuel Challenge
On Thursday, 2nd of June, “Kurbads” drivers Ivars Čiblis and Juris Cirvelis had excellent results in “The Driver’s Fuel Challenge” economic driving qualification race. Ivars set the best result, while Juris was ranked third.
The route of the competition is 17 km long starting and ending in “Volvo Trucks Latvia” center.
Ivars Čiblis, who is “Kurbads” service manager, not a truck driver on a daily basis, managed to drive the distance using just 3,84 l of fuel, beating the best result by 0,01 l. “To be honest, I had lucky driving conditions – I did not have to make unnecessary braking or acceleration. I preferred to use “I-Roll” system but I won’t tell all of my secrets! The result was a really pleasant surprise. And now I have to think about the final race on Saturday.”
Juris Cirvelis achieved the best result last year among “Kurbads” drivers. This year he drove the distance with 4,04 l fuel consumption, which was enough to take a place on the podium.
Latvian final will take place on 4th of June. The route is still unknown. Three best drivers from the final will participate in the Baltic regional final in Poznan. The winner will get a brand new Volvo “V40”. The driver’s company will receive a 8000 EUR voucher.
