The Annual New Year's ball. The best of the best – Ģirts Baumanis!
On October the 1st 1872, when Phileas Fogg started his journey to prove that it is possible to travel around the world in 80 days, he had only a clue what nations he will meet on the road. All nations from all around the world gathered at “Kurbads” and “DBC autocentrs” New Year’s ball to fete the best employees of 2017.
This year, the employees had prepared costumes according to Jules Verne novel “Around the World in Eighty Days”. So one could meet members from South East Asia, America, India, Africa and many other regions of the world. But all the guests could find a common language to celebrate the upcoming 2018!
After the opening speech, the host Toms Liepājnieks welcomed on stage Indian dance group that warmed up guests for a meal and mutual activities in photo booth, getting funny pictures together with colleagues.
The most prestigious establishment’s award is the “Best Kurbads driver”. This year, for the third time in a row the award went to Ģirts Baumanis who proves his fantastic work ethic once again. To win the award three times in a row is a massive achievement!
After the awards ceremony the best costume of the ball was awarded. The jury votes went to Aleksejs Beļikovs’ costume. He will now have a chance to have a ride in an air balloon.
When all the ceremonies were over, the guests could rock the dance floor with a help of band “Rock ‘n’ Berries”.
