Kurbads Wins the Gold Award at the “Safest Company Fleet 2025”
The company Kurbads has received the Gold Award in the “Safest Company Fleet 2025” competition, ranking among the top performers in the international freight transport category.
The competition has been held for the twelfth consecutive year, with the aim of evaluating the effectiveness of corporate fleet management, safety culture, and sustainable development practices. Years of experience confirm that fleet management–related issues are becoming increasingly prominent on the agendas of organisations, particularly highlighting the role of technology in improving road safety.
The competition organisers — insurance company BALTA, in cooperation with the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Latvia — emphasise that special attention is paid to vehicle modernisation. While not long ago global positioning systems (GPS) were considered a competitive advantage, today it is difficult to imagine a fleet that does not use them in daily operations. Vehicles are equipped with a wide range of active and passive safety systems, and artificial intelligence solutions are increasingly being tested to monitor driver well-being and behaviour, enabling early detection of fatigue or aggressive driving and helping to reduce the risk of road traffic accidents.
The influence of the European Green Deal is also evident in fleet management. Vehicles powered by internal combustion engines are gradually being complemented by low-emission and zero-emission solutions. Although the broader adoption of such vehicles in freight transport is currently limited by performance constraints and high acquisition and infrastructure costs, the direction of the industry is clear: sustainable, safe, and technologically advanced fleets.
Kurbads Service Manager Ivars Čiblis notes:
“This recognition is an important confirmation of our work to date, while also reminding us that improving safety and quality is a continuous process for the Kurbads team. We consistently develop both technological solutions and operational processes to ensure high industry standards in the future.”
